Legend states that this dish was first made accidentally by a Maratha ruler when he tried to make a dal curry and added tamarind to the dal resulting in a dish that later came to be known as Sambhar. It is traditionally cooked with Arhar Dal, a special Sambhar spice mix, vegetables and tamarind, and is usually eaten with steamed rice.Disclaimer: The recipes designed are suggestive and should not be considered as medical advisory or recommendation in any manner.
