From the streets of Mumbai to every corner of the world, Pav Bhaji recipe has travelled the width of Earth and made everyone a fan of it. It is a wholesome meal with lots of veggies cooked in tomato gravy and the choicest of masalas for a tangy zest. Served with Pav or Pao, it makes for a fulfilling meal. The best thing about cooking pav bhaji is that it can be enjoyed as breakfast, lunch, dinner or even as a midday snack. Isn’t that great? The History of Pav Bhaji Recipe in India - Pav Bhaji recipe was invented to offer lighter yet fulfilling meals to the textile mill works in the 1850s. With lunch breaks being too short and the work requiring strenuous physical labor, there was a need for a cheap, quick yet satisfying meal for the workers. A local vendor created the bhaji using parts of other dishes available in the menu into a spicy concoction called ‘bhaji’. He replaced the rice or roti usually had by the mill workers with the Pav and Pav Bhaji was born.
